Bali Bliss

Cultural Inspiration

When you're looking for inspiration in a home sometimes you have to escape the norm and allow outside cultures to influence your design. Embracing the energy and creativity from different cultures is especially invigorating when you've seen them first hand. Our inspiration for this post comes to you from Bali, Indonesia.

Bali Style

One of thousands of Islands in the country, this place stands out from the rest. Homes carry the character of the surrounding culture throughout. Dare to dream for a moment and imagine the outdoors welcomed into your home, a place where vegetation, water and the acoustics of nature serenade your soul. Where lavish luxury is experienced in old world flavor. Where intricate textures are found in the beams of wood holding together the exterior. Detail lives in the nature brought into the home. It is a simple way of life. This is Bali bliss…

Linens in Bali have subtle patterns, if any at all. Cool clean crisp and white like the Camille Bed by Matouk are prevalent. This Matouk designed bedding has delicate and feminine details. The linens are pristine white 600 thread count egyptian cotton made in the neighboring Philippines of Italian Fabric.

Bali style is all about accents. Whether it be a craftily chiseled concrete statue of ganesha, meticulously carved headboards, or colorful decorative accent pillows Bali spares no detail in the home.

Perfect gifts for rock stars and music lovers

Sunfest kicked off Wednesday in downtown West Palm Beach. The five-day event is Florida's largest waterfront music and art festival and attracts more than 165,000 visitors. Dozens of top entertainment acts – including Train, The Offspring, Ed Sheeran, The Black Crowes, Cheap Trick and Gavin DeGraw – will take the stage before the show ends with a fireworks show on Sunday.

With concert season underway, we came up with these picks that are sure to please rock stars and those that like to party like rock stars. They'd make great gifts, but you'll also want to grab these for yourself.

  1. Ibiza Beach Towel by Abyss & Habidecor. This soft oversized beach towel has a subtle pattern that's a refined version of tie-dye. It's perfect for chilling out at the beach or staking out a spot on the grass while rocking out an outdoor concert.
  2. Plaid Wool Sleep Mask by Elizabeth W. If you’re trying to take an afternoon siesta or fall asleep after a late night, this sumptuously soft sleep mask blocks out light to help you sleep. With a pattern that can be preppy or punk depending on the wearer's attitude, this is the perfect gift for anybody who needs their ZZZs.
  3. Black Makeup Towel by the Turkish Towel Co. This is a bathroom necessity for rock stars and anybody else who wears black mascara and dark eyeliner. Your clean white and light colored towels will remain flawless as you use the Black Makeup Towel as their substitute.
  4. Rock Star Toilet Brush Holder by Windisch. Bring some bling to the bathroom with this unique toilet brush holder. It's plated in 24-carat gold and oven varnished, and is guaranteed not to corrode, pit or tarnish. Pair it with Monogrammed Toilet Paper with a single letter in gold script for a look that is over-the-top luxury.
Enjoy the music whether you are rocking out at home or at a music fest, and stay safe!
